Tenant Law Group is looking for a California barred attorney who wants real impact without the grind of tracking six-minute increments. This role has no billable hour requirement. You are measured on outcomes, not on how many hours you can bill a client. You will spend your days advising tenants who are facing landlords, evictions, and housing conditions that no one should have to accept, often when the legal system has already failed them once. Then you will use your judgment to spot the cases worth fighting for on contingency, so more tenants get real representation. Why this role Certified Great Place to Work, six years in a row. What you will actually do Advise limited scope clients on their rights and recommend next steps during Initial Consultations. Assess Prospective New Matters to determine which ones TLG should take on contingency. Act as the legal liaison between the Intake Team and the Legal Team on newly onboarded matters. Help the Intake Team bring in and onboard the right clients, quickly and responsibly. Pitch in on overflow legal production work such as complaint drafting and legal research. This is an individual contributor role. You will not manage or supervise other staff. Your focus stays on clients and casework, not on running a team. What you bring An active California bar license with a discipline free record. Real familiarity or the willingness to become very familiar with landlord tenant law at the federal, state, and local level. The instincts to spot a strong contingency case even when it is not obvious yet. Empathy for clients, including the ones who do not have a legal remedy. Comfort moving fast between consultations without losing attention to detail. A self-starter mindset. You will work independently with minimal oversight. Proficiency with Microsoft 365. Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000 annually. Exempt position. No billable hour quota or tracking requirement. Reports directly to the CEO. In-house MCLE credits provided.
