Appian Business Analyst
Greetings from Skysoft Job Title: Appian Business Analyst Location: 100% Remote Travel: Occasional travel to the client's Boston, MA or Charlotte, NC offices may be required) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced 10+ years of Appian Business Analyst with strong hands-on knowledge of the Appian platform, business process management, and enterprise application requirements gathering. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of Appian capabilities and experience translating business needs into functional requirements and technical specifications. This role requires exceptional communication, stakeholder management, interpersonal, and analytical skills. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to understand business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support successful Appian solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct business requirements gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, and discovery workshops to understand business needs and objectives. Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Appian platform, its capabilities, features, workflows, and business process automation. Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows. Collaborate with Appian developers, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure requirements are accurately understood and implemented. Analyze existing business processes, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities using Appian. Facilitate stakeholder discussions, conduct requirement reviews, and manage requirement clarifications throughout the project lifecycle. Support functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, and business validation. Maintain requirements traceability and ensure alignment between business objectives and delivered solutions.
Required Qualifications
Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the Appian product and platform is mandatory . Prior experience working as a Business Analyst on Appian implementation or enhancement projects. Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering, functional analysis, and documentation. Strong understanding of Appian workflows, process models, business rules, and application functionality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams. Ability to independently lead discovery sessions, ask the right questions, and translate complex business needs into actionable requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
