Application Developer
Role Summary This position designs, develops, tests, and deploys scalable Python applications and microservices within cloud-hosted or hybrid environments. The role focuses on delivering clean, maintainable, and well-documented software while collaborating with cross-functional teams on application architecture, API development, data modeling, and technical solutions that support business and product requirements.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Python applications and microservices in cloud or hybrid environments. Build and integrate RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST Framework. Design data models and integration patterns to support reliable and efficient database operations. Participate in code reviews and contribute constructive feedback to support code quality and development standards. Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions and contribute to architecture discussions. Use AI-assisted development tools and evaluate generated code for quality, accuracy, security, and maintainability. Optimize SQL queries and database performance using indexing, query tuning, and related techniques. Manage source code using Git and support CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI. Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Develop and maintain technical documentation to support system maintainability and knowledge sharing. Qualifications 3+ years of professional software development experience using Python as a primary programming language. Strong proficiency with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or comparable technologies. Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django REST Framework, or similar frameworks. Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy and database migration tools. Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines. Working knowledge of Docker, containerization, and cloud deployment patterns. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex or evolving requirements into actionable technical solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in remote and asynchronous environments. Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience. Publishing Pay Range: $45.00 – $55.00 USD Hourly This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
