Chief Data Strategy Officer
Role Description The Chief Data Strategy Officer is a full-time remote executive role responsible for defining and leading the organization’s overall data vision and strategy. This position leads the development of data-driven business plans, aligns data initiatives with corporate objectives, and partners with senior leaders to ensure data is embedded in decision-making across all functions. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing enterprise data governance, guiding investments in data platforms and analytics capabilities, and prioritizing strategic data projects that support growth, risk management, and operational excellence. The role also includes building and mentoring cross-functional data teams, setting performance metrics, and communicating clear, actionable insights to executive stakeholders and the board. The Chief Data Strategy Officer ensures that data practices comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards while maximizing value creation from internal and external data assets.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Strategic Planning and Business Planning, with a proven ability to design and execute data-driven business strategies. Advanced Analytical Skills and experience using data to inform high-level decision-making and performance optimization. Solid understanding of Finance and the ability to connect data initiatives to financial outcomes, budgeting, and ROI analysis. Demonstrated Executive Management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders. Experience in data governance, data architecture, or enterprise analytics in a complex organization. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Track record of driving digital transformation or data strategy initiatives at a senior or C-level position. Relevant advanced degree (e.g., in Business, Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, or related field) or equivalent senior-level experience.
