Work you'll do

We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect Contractor to support a target-state assessment of the enterprise Data & Analytics landscape using Google Cloud. The contractor will assess the current environment, define target-state architecture, evaluate GCP technologies, document architecture recommendations, and develop an actionable implementation roadmap.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assess the current Data & Analytics landscape, including platforms, data sources, integrations, reporting, governance, security, and operations.
• Design the target-state Data & Analytics architecture using appropriate Google Cloud services and architecture patterns.
• Define data architecture for data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, batch processing, streaming, and analytics platforms.
• Evaluate GCP technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Cloud Composer, Looker, and Vertex AI.
• Develop architecture diagrams, data flows, reference architectures, technical recommendations, and decision documents.
• Define data governance requirements for data quality, metadata, lineage, ownership, classification, retention, and lifecycle management.
• Design security and infrastructure requirements covering IAM, networking, encryption, access controls, logging, monitoring, and auditability.
• Identify current-state gaps, technical debt, integration dependencies, performance issues, security risks, and cost drivers.
• Develop a prioritized implementation roadmap with phases, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and recommended next steps.
• Facilitate technical discussions and architecture working sessions with business, data, engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Provide technical guidance to data engineers, cloud engineers, developers, DevOps teams, and analytics teams.
• Review solution designs, data pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, deployment approaches, and technical specifications.
• Support proof-of-concept activities and validate recommended GCP services against business and technical requirements.
• Ensure architecture recommendations align with cloud security, performance, scalability, resiliency, governance, and cost optimization standards.

Preferred Skills

• 6–9 years of experience in cloud architecture, data architecture, solution architecture, or a related field.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform / GCP.
• Strong experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, Looker, and Vertex AI.
• Experience designing enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouse platforms, and real-time analytics solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, data integration, and data lifecycle management.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $ 150 - $160 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
