About the Role
The consultancy is seeking experienced Senior Data Engineers to join its growing practice. In this role, you will work directly with insurance clients to design, implement, and optimize scalable data architectures and pipelines that support business and technology transformation. The position combines hands-on data engineering with strategic problem-solving and client engagement. You will work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, and data integration tools while translating complex technical issues into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders. This opportunity is suited to an experienced data engineering professional who enjoys solving business problems and working in a consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines, integration solutions, and data architectures. Use Snowflake to support efficient data ingestion, scalable storage, performance optimization, and data security. Collect and analyze complex data, develop hypotheses, and present actionable recommendations to senior client stakeholders. Support strategic client transformation programs by mapping business processes and delivering solutions tailored to the insurance industry. Develop and optimize data integration, replication, and transformation processes. Work with client stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable data engineering solutions. Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly through executive-level presentations. Required Qualifications 5–7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer. Recent, hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt (dbt Labs). Proficiency with Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose, GitHub, and Astronomer. Strong SQL skills and experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation. Experience with cloud data platforms, including AWS or Azure. Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling, data quality, and data lifecycle management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues in clear, logical terms for executive audiences. Ability to engage with clients, analyze business challenges, and present practical recommendations. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related discipline. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for client engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in management consulting or in an internal business analyst or engineering role within a leading financial institution. Background in the financial services, asset management, or insurance industry. Experience delivering data engineering solutions in client-facing environments. Candidates must be able to travel to the client site every other week, from Monday at 8:00 AM through Thursday at 5:00 PM Central Time. Sunday evening travel may be necessary. Employment Type Full-time, direct-hire, permanent placement. Contract-to-contract (C2C) arrangements are not available.
