# Data Entry Operator – Remote ## About the Role A healthcare organization is seeking a Data Entry Operator to accurately enter and process information related to patient, client, and third-party insurance carrier transactions. This role supports healthcare and laboratory operations by ensuring billing, demographic, and service information is entered accurately across multiple hospital and laboratory systems. The position is full-time and remote, with virtual training provided from home. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to consistently meet quality and production standards while maintaining patient information privacy. ## Key Responsibilities Enter required billing information from requisitions and laboratory reports. Enter demographic and billing information into multiple hospital and laboratory interfaces. Review and understand laboratory pathology reports. Interpret requests for services documented on laboratory requisitions. Maintain required quality and production standards. Work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare data entry environment. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout data entry activities. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations when handling patient information. Maintain a minimum typing speed of 8,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour with minimal errors. ## Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, or higher. Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows. Proficiency with computer navigation, mouse, and keyboard functions. Ability to meet quality and production standards. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, in the candidate's current time zone. ## Work Arrangement & Schedule Remote / Telecommute Full-time: 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM All U.S. time zones considered. Overtime and weekend work are not required but may be available when needed. Training is conducted virtually from home.
