Director of Mortgage Operations: Owner's Right Hand (Remote, Central/Eastern hours)
We're McGowan Mortgages. We're a fast-growing mortgage team that runs on systems, automation and a tight crew. We close purchase, refinance, DSCR, Non-QM and HELOC loans in multiple states. The role. Our owner is still the final word on too many files. Today he jumps in on structure decisions, client explanations that didn't land, and clients who are frustrated or shopping us. We're hiring the person who takes that off his plate for good. You'll own complex files end to end: diagnose the problem, make the call, and explain it to the borrower and realtor so it actually lands. The business should run at full speed when the owner is at an event or out of the office. Pay: $75,000–$95,000 base plus performance bonus, depending on experience. Remote, with Central/Eastern hours. Complex-file decisions: structure, program fit, conditions, DTI/funds problems, and escalations Client and realtor "put out the fire" conversations, from tough news to rate shopping and objections, turned into retained loans Day-to-day leadership of our LOAs and processors: priorities, coaching, accountability Spotting a problem before the client feels it, and fixing the process behind it 5+ years in mortgage: senior LO, ops manager, or senior processor/underwriter who has also sold Deep in agency (Conv/FHA/VA) guidelines, plus working knowledge of Non-QM/DSCR A calm, clear communicator who can make a confused borrower say "that makes sense" Decisive and resourceful.
