Edits Coder
Job Description
- Review and resolve IP or OP Coding and/or Billing Edits. Ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and documentation standards.
- Review medical records, encounter forms, and other documentation to abstract relevant information for coding purposes.
- Translate medical terminology and procedures into standardized codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II code sets.
- Stay informed about updates and changes to coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies, such as HIPAA, CMS, and third-party payer requirements.
Skill Set:
- Possession of one of the following AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P; or one of the following AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, or CIC.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Edit review and resolution.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and/or HCPCS coding, as appropriate, encompassing comprehensive knowledge of guidelines and conventions.
- Competence in utilizing coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong analytical aptitude to interpret intricate medical documentation accurately.
- Detail-oriented approach, ensuring precision and accuracy in all coding assignments.
- Exceptional communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities to meet coding deadlines
"The pay range for this position starts at $25.00; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.” Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Education:

- Edits Coding: 1 year (Required)

- AHIMA or AAPC RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPS, COC or CIC (Required)
