Full-Stack Web Developer (WordPress & Shopify)

First Station Media is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Stack Web Developer (WordPress, Shopify, Administration, Maintenance, & Support) to lead projects from concept to launch. In this role, you will take ownership of the full development lifecycle, including architecting solutions, building scalable applications, and optimizing performance across a range of client websites and digital platforms. You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and leadership to develop scalable websites, e-commerce platforms, and custom integrations that drive measurable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications and client-facing websites
• Build responsive, modern frontends using frameworks such as React, Vue, Solid.js, or similar
• Develop backend systems using PHP (Laravel, WordPress, Drupal), Node.js, Go, or comparable technologies
• Architect, manage, and optimize databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Integrate APIs, third-party services, and marketing tools
• Customize and extend CMS and e-commerce platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Magento, etc.)
• Optimize applications for performance, SEO, accessibility, and scalability
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, or similar)
• Partner with marketing teams to support analytics, tracking, and conversion optimization
• Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve client platforms

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. First Station Media does not currently sponsor visas for this role
• 3 – 5 years of experience in full-stack development or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks
• Backend development experience with PHP or similar server-side languages
• Experience working with CMS and e-commerce platforms
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of API architecture and integrations
• Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced agency or client-services environment
• Experience with WebAssembly, Rust, or C++
• Familiarity with headless CMS architectures
• Experience with marketing automation, analytics, or tracking tools
• DevOps experience, including CI/CD and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal technical work

Compensation

• Salary range: $50,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and geographic location
