IT Project Manager - US Remote
About the position Zarego is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to serve as a link between US-based stakeholders and engineering teams in Latin America. The role leads cross-functional efforts to deliver software solutions, managing project lifecycles and communication across borders. The position is remote, with candidates required to be based in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Houston.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation while balancing multiple projects.
- Act as the main bridge between Latin American development teams and US clients.
- Identify risks proactively and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.
- Monitor project budgets and milestones to support on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Promote and refine Agile best practices within the organization.
- Lead distributed teams of developers, designers, and QA engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience managing software development projects from inception to delivery.
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments, managing rapid growth and evolving priorities.
- A proven track record of overseeing multiple simultaneous projects and keeping them on track.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum frameworks, and technical concepts.
- Ability to motivate and lead distributed teams of developers, designers, and QA engineers.
- Expert-level proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
- Advanced English proficiency (C1–C2).
- Must be based in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Houston.
Nice-to-haves
- Spanish proficiency.
- PMP, CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or similar certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related field.
