Java Developer, Sr. - Remote
About the Role
Kforce is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a remote team focused on developing and enhancing enterprise applications that support critical customer and business operations. This role will contribute to large-scale modernization initiatives designed to improve user experiences across business processes and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, experience with cloud-native services, and a solid foundation in modern software engineering practices. You will design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices while collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications and services using modern Java technologies.
Design and implement scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions. Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements. Support platform modernization, performance optimization, and system integration initiatives. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and software engineering best-practice initiatives. Leverage AI-powered development tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality. Contribute to reliable, scalable, and high-performance enterprise software solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
Recent experience with Java 21 or newer. Strong experience with Spring Boot. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience using AI development tools. Strong backend development and software engineering skills. Experience developing scalable APIs and microservices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Claude or similar AI-powered development tools.
Experience contributing to large-scale application modernization initiatives. Experience with cloud-native application development. Experience with performance optimization and system integration. Experience participating in architecture reviews and code review processes. Work Arrangement
