Java & SQL Developer

We're a small team looking to bring on a Java developer who's comfortable with SQL and ready to work on real, ongoing projects — not just a one-off gig. This is a part-time role, roughly 1–2 hours a day, and fully remote, so you can work from wherever you are, as long as you can overlap with the team for communication and check-ins. If you're a couple of years into your career and want steady, low-commitment work where you can still grow, this could be a good fit. What you'll be doing: •Writing and maintaining backend code in Java

• Writing, tuning, and optimizing SQL queries and schemas
• Fixing bugs and improving existing production code
• Taking part in code reviews (giving and receiving feedback)
• Keeping the codebase clean and consistent as the project grows

What we're looking for:

• 1–3 years of hands-on Java experience (solid grasp of OOP, not still learning the basics)
• Real, hands-on SQL skills — writing your own queries, not just copying from Stack Overflow (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred)
• Comfortable with REST APIs and Git
• Excellent English — well beyond conversational fluency. You'll be reading technical specs, writing clear updates, and joining calls where nuance matters
• Nice to have: Spring / Spring Boot, Docker, Maven or Gradle, JUnit
