Lead DevOps Engineer
About the Opportunity A leading enterprise organization is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to help modernize and scale its cloud platform engineering capabilities. This role will focus on building secure, automated, and highly scalable cloud infrastructure that enables modern software delivery across enterprise applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys designing cloud platforms, improving developer productivity, implementing DevOps best practices, and mentoring engineering teams in a collaborative, cloud-first environment. While this role is fully remote, candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of the following locations to support periodic in-person meetings and collaboration sessions as needed: Atlanta, GA;Boston, MA;Morristown, NJ;Plano, TX;St. Louis, MO;or St. Petersburg, FL. What You'll Tackle:
- Design and maintain scalable cloud platform architectures.
- Build, deploy, and support enterprise Kubernetes environments.
- Modernize CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery speed and reliability.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardize infrastructure deployments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.
- Improve developer experience through platform tooling and automation.
- Manage source code repositories and artifact management platforms.
- Partner with engineering teams to establish platform engineering standards and best practices.
- Implement security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Improve platform observability, monitoring, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor engineers on DevOps methodologies, automation, and cloud engineering practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud platforms.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes administration and container orchestration experience.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies.
- Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience administering GitHub or similar source code management platforms.
- Experience implementing and managing enterprise artifact repositories.
- Strong Linux systems administration experience.
- Experience automating infrastructure using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts and infrastructure design.
- Experience supporting enterprise platform engineering initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and promoting technical best practices.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience with JFrog Artifactory or similar artifact management platforms.
- Experience with Datadog or enterprise observability solutions.
- Experience supporting container services such as Amazon ECS.
- Experience managing multi-account cloud environments.
- Knowledge of cloud governance and operational standards.
- Experience implementing security-focused platform engineering practices.
