Legal Operations Systems Consultant
**NO 3rd Parties or Sponsorship! Location: Remote Duration: 6 months+ The Legal Operations Systems Consultant will provide interim support for the business processes and technology used by the Legal organization. This role will focus primarily on legal operations and supporting systems outside of contract lifecycle management. The ideal candidate understands how legal departments operate, including matter management, outside counsel billing, patent administration, legal reporting, and related workflows. Experience with specific platforms is helpful, but a strong understanding of legal operations, processes, terminology, and data is more important than expertise in one particular system. This role is best suited for a Legal Operations Manager, Legal Technology Analyst, or senior business systems professional with experience supporting legal teams. Key Responsibilities: Support the systems and business processes used by the Legal Operations organization. Help maintain continuity across matter management, outside counsel billing, patent administration, licensing, and other legal processes. Partner with Legal Operations stakeholders to understand operational needs, identify process improvements, and translate business requirements into system changes. Support matter intake, workflow management, tracking, reporting, and related legal processes. Assist with Salesforce enhancements used to track licensing, patents, and associated revenue. Provide guidance on legal data structures, terminology, taxonomy, objects, and reporting requirements. Serve as the Legal organization’s systems subject-matter resource during business intelligence and reporting initiatives. Help business intelligence teams understand relevant legal-system objects, attributes, and reporting requirements. Coordinate with internal business systems resources on requirements gathering, documentation, solution design, testing, and implementation. Support integration discussions involving legal platforms and other enterprise systems. Help document the departing employee’s responsibilities, open initiatives, processes, and system dependencies. Requirements: Experience with Onit, SimpleLegal, TeamConnect, or a comparable enterprise legal management platform. Experience working with Salesforce, SAP or Oracle- larger system. Experience supporting Legal Operations, legal technology, or legal business systems. Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes, particularly matter management. Experience working with matter intake, workflow tracking, outside counsel billing, patent administration, licensing, or related legal functions. Ability to understand business processes and translate operational needs into system and reporting requirements. Experience partnering with Legal, IT, Business Systems, Data, or Business Intelligence teams. Familiarity with requirements gathering, process documentation, testing, system enhancements, and change implementation. Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment. Familiarity with Anaqua or another intellectual property and patent-management system.
