Overview
Seeking a Mainframe IMS Engineer to support enterprise IMS database and transaction processing environments. This role is responsible for system administration, performance tuning, recovery planning, software maintenance, and operational support of critical IMS platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support IMS Database and Transaction Manager environments. Manage IMS regions, database resources, and subsystem operations. Perform software installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration activities. Support backup, recovery, database reorganization, and disaster recovery testing. Monitor system health and optimize IMS performance. Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis. Support integration with DB2, MQ, CICS, RACF, and other mainframe technologies. Maintain technical documentation and support change management processes. Required Skills Strong experience with IMS DB and IMS TM. Knowledge of IMS Connect, DBRC, DBD, PSB, and ACB. Experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, and SMP/E. IMS recovery, reorganization, and performance tuning experience. Strong troubleshooting and production support skills. Preferred Skills IMS Parallel Sysplex Shared Queues DB2, MQ, CICS, RACF REXX automation Disaster Recovery testing experience
