Network Security Engineer (Remote)

A financial services organization is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a fully remote opportunity. About the Opportunity: Shift: Day shift Schedule: Monday through Friday Hours: Standard business Setting: Remote Responsibilities: Administer and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including configurations, upgrades, patches, and ongoing support Develop, maintain, and optimize firewall security policies and rules Convert Layer 4 firewall rules to Layer 7 application-aware rules using Palo Alto User-ID and App-ID Troubleshoot firewall, network, and connectivity issues to support security, performance, and reliability Support network security infrastructure and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure connectivity solutions Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls Strong understanding of Layer 4 and Layer 7 firewall security Hands-on experience with Palo Alto User-ID and App-ID Experience creating and managing custom App-ID configurations Experience managing Palo Alto infrastructure, including upgrades, patches, and configurations Strong knowledge of networking protocols, devices, and infrastructure Experience with firewalls, routers, VPNs, and network monitoring tools Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment Desired Skills: Experience managing Check Point firewalls in an IaaS environment Experience deploying Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment Experience working with cloud/IaaS network security infrastructure Experience using Python scripting to automate network administration or firewall tasks Experience with network automation and configuration management tools
