Role Description The North American Operations Director is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across the region to ensure efficiency, safety, and service quality. This position leads and mentors operations teams, sets performance goals, and coordinates cross-functional activities to meet organizational objectives. The Director manages operational budgets, monitors key performance indicators, and implements process improvements based on data and customer feedback. The role includes building strong relationships with customers and partners, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring consistent compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. The Director also contributes to strategic planning for North American operations and supports change management initiatives to drive long-term growth.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including process optimization, performance monitoring, and implementation of best practices. Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, KPI analysis, and informed decision-making based on quantitative and qualitative insights. Candidates should possess Team Management capabilities, such as leadership, coaching, delegation, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment. Candidates should possess Budgeting skills, including financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation aligned with operational goals. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, with a focus on relationship-building, issue resolution, and maintaining high satisfaction across stakeholders. Experience in transportation, logistics, rail, or related industries is beneficial. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, geographically dispersed environment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an asset.
