Power Systems Software Engineers
Role and Responsibilities We are seeking experienced professionals to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of advanced grid management and energy market software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of power systems domain expertise and software development experience, with the ability to work on high-availability electricity market and grid operations platforms.
- Enhance, evolve, and support high-availability electricity market and grid management software applications.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot power systems application functionality.
- Participate in software design, development, testing, implementation, and production support activities.
- Create code fixes, model conversion tools, documentation, and user interface enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
- Support software implementations and project delivery activities.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues impacting power system applications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software performance, quality, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
- Experience in Power Systems Analysis.
- Experience with Power Systems Application Software Development and Implementation.
- Knowledge of electricity markets, grid operations, or energy management systems.
- Hands-on software development experience in one or more of the following: Java, C, .NET.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Security Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC), Economic Dispatch, Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), Optimization algorithms, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- Experience supporting Energy Management Systems (EMS), grid software, or related utility applications.
- Knowledge of grid modernization, stability, and integrated grid solutions.
