Project Manager

Project managers are responsible for overseeing specific projects within an organization. As the project manager, your duties include planning, budgeting, supervising, and documenting all aspects of the project. Project managers may work independently or lead a team to complete tasks. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and should be listed on the resume. Proof of certification may be requested. This position seeks highly qualified candidates for a Project Manager role within an environmental epidemiology and disease registries program. The position involves senior-level consultative services and technical assistance in project management for program-related activities. Work includes overseeing priority initiatives and managing special projects using project management best practices in coordination with business and program units. Responsibilities include assessing, analyzing, planning, researching, coordinating, and evaluating project management implementation; ensuring the use of best practices and standards; optimizing operations and program functions; and providing recommendations. This position is responsible for coordinating across multiple related initiatives and leading special projects assigned by leadership. Duties include developing project management tools, maintaining project management data for critical and major projects, reporting progress on key initiatives to senior staff, providing recommendations on project management practices, and reporting the status of major accomplishments. The role also involves working with staff to initiate, sponsor, manage, or participate in projects to support the success of diverse initiatives. Work is performed under limited supervision with substantial latitude for initiative and independent judgment. II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Candidates who do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements will still be displayed but may not be selected. Years Required/Preferred - 8 Required Experience: Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; devise solutions; prepare concise reports; analyze and solve complex problems; and prioritize issues. - 8 Required Experience: Ability to develop and deliver reports identifying gaps in technology and operational effectiveness. - 8 Required Experience: Skilled in managing multiple projects, including implementations across large organizations. - 8 Required Experience: managing project plans and documenting risks, issues, and contingency plans; ensuring resolution of issues and removal of project barriers. - 8 Required Experience: Skilled in mapping business processes, identifying process improvements, and planning and facilitating meetings and group problem-solving sessions. - 8 Required Experience: developing or contributing to statements of work, project charters, design documentation, test plans, risk assessments, project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost projections. - 8 Required Experience: building and maintaining strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders; strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills. - 1 Preferred Ability to summarize and escalate issues appropriately, develop and present weekly status updates, and conduct project team status meetings; experience compiling project information, status reports, and budget updates. - 1 Preferred Experience developing written materials such as briefing documents, administrative reports, and PowerPoint presentations for diverse audiences, including senior and executive leadership. Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.
