[Remote] Accounts Receivable Clerk
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Working Quarter is hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk to keep client receivables ready for the monthly close. The role applies customer payments, resolves unapplied cash and short payments, follows up on past-due invoices, prepares aging reports, and reconciles receivables to the general ledger.
Responsibilities
- Apply customer payments from bank deposits and lockbox files to open invoices
- Look into unapplied cash and short payments and contact the client about them
- Send statements and reminders for invoices past due
- Prepare the aged receivables report at month-end
- Reconcile the receivables subledger to the general ledger
Skills
- A year or more in accounts receivable, billing or collections
- Experience applying cash in an accounting system
- Excel for matching payments and invoices
- QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage Intacct
- An associate degree or coursework in accounting
