Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Goodwin Recruiting is recruiting for a respected commercial cleaning company for a remote Accounts Receivable Manager. The role leads accounts receivable operations across multiple states, supervises a small team, and oversees billing, collections, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of 1–2 accounts receivable and billing specialists, overseeing daily workflow and performance
- Own the end-to-end accounts receivable cycle for multi-state operations, ensuring timely billing and cash collection
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for billing, payment application, and collections follow-up
- Manage complex account reconciliations, dispute resolution, and collaborate with operations to address root causes
- Prepare and present AR aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and other key financial metrics to leadership
- Maintain mastery of QuickBooks Online and lead the transition to Xero
- Ensure compliance with multi-state sales tax tracking and remittance
- Handle high-value collections escalations and coordinate with external collection agencies as needed
Skills
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, credit & collections, or general accounting, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
- Expert proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with high emotional intelligence
- Experience with Xero is a strong plus
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Demonstrated ability to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and manage past-due accounts effectively
- Skilled at designing and implementing billing and collection workflows
- Comfortable handling client escalations diplomatically yet firmly
