[Remote] AI/ML Engineer

The AI/ML Engineer will design an AI context and semantic layer, build a proof of concept, and develop evaluation, monitoring, and governance frameworks for trusted AI-generated insights.
Responsibilities
- Design a target-state architecture for an AI context and semantic layer
- Create a working proof of concept alongside internal data and engineering stakeholders
- Define how governed business context, metadata, and metric definitions should be authored, maintained, and version controlled
- Develop an evaluation framework that measures the quality, reliability, and accuracy of AI-generated answers
- Advise on integrating AI assistants with enterprise data and contextual knowledge sources
- Establish approaches for monitoring performance, detecting drift, and continuously improving answer quality
- Help create a scalable, maintainable solution that supports future AI and analytics initiatives
- Produce documentation and recommendations that enable successful handover and long-term adoption
Skills
- Experience building POCs for AI products, LLM-powered agents, RAG solutions, or AI analytics assistants, and deploying AI/ML models in production environments
- Strong experience with model development, evaluation, monitoring, and iteration
- Experience building semantic, metric, or context layers over a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake
- Strong dbt experience, including data modeling, transformations, testing, and documentation
- Experience designing evaluation frameworks to assess whether AI-generated answers are accurate, reliable, and grounded in trusted business data
- Experience supporting AI/ML use cases beyond proof-of-concept, including production workflows, performance monitoring, and maintainability
- Ability to partner with data engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders
