[Remote] Back-end Engineer (Java, Payments Industry, AWS, Microservices)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Central Business Solutions Inc. is staffing backend engineers for an engineering program at a fintech client. The role focuses on building and shipping production systems across distributed architecture and financial payment flows, designing complex backend systems, and supporting cloud-native engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Experience designing and owning complex backend systems end to end, from HLD through production verification
- Strong documentation habits: runbooks, testing guides, and knowledge sharing come naturally
Skills
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Java expertise
- Direct payments industry experience, with deep understanding of financial payment flows and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture, plus Docker and containerized application development
- Experience designing and owning complex backend systems end to end, from HLD through production verification
- Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or similar relational databases at scale
- Proficiency with AI tools like Claude as part of everyday engineering workflow, and picking up new domains and context quickly
- Strong documentation habits: runbooks, testing guides, and knowledge sharing come naturally
- Location: Remote, US based only
- Candidate need to be on our W2
- Familiarity with risk, fraud, or compliance systems
- Experience with Elixir or working in a multi-language environment
