[Remote] Backend Developer (Go/Node)

Plan A Technologies is a global engineering firm that solves complex technology challenges through custom software, AI agents, and engineering services. The company is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services, microservices, APIs, and database systems using Go and Node.js. The role also involves optimizing application performance and collaborating with cross-functional engineering stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services and APIs
- Build high-performance, scalable microservices and define efficient communication protocols
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational database schemas, ensuring data integrity and query efficiency
- Identify system bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure the high availability of core services
- Partner alongside frontend developers, product managers, and other engineering stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
Skills
- You must have at least 5+ years of experience developing with Go (Golang) and Node.js to be considered for this role
- 5+ years of experience professionally developing with Go (Golang) and Node.js
- Strong experience building high-performance microservices and defining efficient RPC protocols using gRPC
- Proven experience working with relational databases, schema design, and query optimization using PostgreSQL
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
