[Remote] Backend Engineer – C# / .NET
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Believe Resourcing Group is seeking a Backend Engineer to join an engineering team building scalable, high-performance backend services. The role focuses on developing C# and .NET backend services, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications while collaborating with engineering, QA, DevOps, frontend, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services
- Contribute to service-oriented and microservices architectures
- Work with Azure cloud services to build secure and reliable applications
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested code
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests where required
- Investigate, debug and resolve technical issues across backend services
- Assist with performance optimisation and continuous improvement of existing systems
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including database design and optimisation
- Implement and maintain appropriate caching strategies
- Work with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Contribute to CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, frontend engineers and product teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the technical stack
Skills
- * 3-5 years of professional software development experience, with strong backend development experience
- * Strong proficiency in C# and .NET
- * Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
- * Experience working with microservices or service-oriented architectures
- * Practical experience with Microsoft Azure
- * Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices
- * Experience with Docker and ideally Kubernetes
- * Experience with Azure services such as: + Azure Key Vault + Azure App Configuration + Azure Queueing/Messaging services + Azure AD B2C
- * Strong SQL/database experience
- * Exposure to NoSQL databases
- * Understanding of caching strategies
- * Good understanding of software architecture, code organisation and design patterns
- * Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities
- * Experience working in Agile development environments
- * Experience within fintech, payments or e-commerce
- * Experience working on payment applications, payment gateways or transaction-heavy platforms
- * Experience working on products similar to large-scale digital commerce or financial platforms
- * Experience with Golang, TypeScript or other programming languages
- * AWS cloud experience
- * Azure or other cloud-related certifications
