[Remote] Cloud Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lucid Services Group is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer for a direct-hire, full-time position with a top client. The role designs, builds, and supports secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments while advancing infrastructure automation, cloud security, DevOps practices, and modern data, application, and emerging technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments
- Develop and improve cloud automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern configuration management practices
- Support automated source control, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and application deployment processes
- Assist with cloud migrations, platform optimization, capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing operational support
- Implement cloud security best practices related to identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, and cloud-native security controls
- Partner with development, infrastructure, data, and engineering teams to design resilient cloud solutions that meet application and business requirements
- Build and optimize cloud environments capable of supporting data-intensive, AI/ML, and rapid-prototyping workloads
- Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency of cloud platforms
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for critical cloud services
- Contribute to the continued adoption of DevOps and DevSecOps practices across the technology organization
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of experience designing, building, or supporting cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Hands-on experience building automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with scripting or programming using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, or similar technologies
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including networking, compute, storage, identity, security, monitoring, and automation
- Working knowledge of IAM, network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, and cloud security controls
- Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, source control, and automated deployment methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across cloud and infrastructure environments
- Experience collaborating with technical stakeholders to translate business and application requirements into cloud solutions
