Remote Cobol Programmer (IDMS)
Insight Global is seeking a COBOL Programmer to support a defense contract. This position can be remote and will support a team based in Indiana.
Overview
This role involves joining a team responsible for supporting legacy systems critical to business operations. The candidate should have experience with mainframe environments and a strong understanding of COBOL, IDMS, DB2, and related technologies. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are required to maintain and enhance core applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL programs in a mainframe environment.
- Analyze existing code to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with analysts, QA testers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation related to program logic, changes, and updates.
- Participate in system testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Support batch job processing and ensure successful execution of scheduled tasks.
- Provide technical support during system upgrades, migrations, or data conversions.
Compensation
Base pay range: $29.00/hr - $35.00/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on factors including skills, experience, and education.
