[Remote] Content Development Specialist

The Content Development Specialist will create digital learning assets, consult with clients on learning and performance needs, manage development projects, and use AI and Adobe tools to support efficient, high-quality content production.
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise syllabi, scripts, readings, quizzes, hands-on activities, final projects, and other digital learning assets
- Translate business requirements, learning objectives, and subject-matter expertise into practical learner experiences
- Apply adult-learning and instructional-design principles to improve engagement, comprehension, retention, and application
- Review content for accuracy, grammar, formatting, accessibility, brand alignment, and production readiness
- Incorporate feedback while maintaining consistency across courses, modules, and supporting assets
- Participate in client discovery conversations to understand business challenges, target audiences, performance needs, and desired outcomes
- Help clients distinguish between training needs and broader process, technology, communication, or performance issues
- Recommend appropriate learning strategies, content formats, delivery methods, and measurement approaches
- Convert client needs into defined scopes, deliverables, timelines, and development requirements
- Consult with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to identify essential content and close knowledge gaps
- Present recommendations clearly and explain the instructional reasoning behind content and design decisions
- Build trusted client relationships through responsiveness, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
- Manage assigned projects and deliverables from kickoff through development, review, approval, and final delivery
- Create and maintain work plans, priorities, schedules, status updates, and delivery forecasts
- Track dependencies, feedback cycles, approvals, scope changes, and project risks
- Coordinate work across content developers, subject-matter experts, video-production teams, and client stakeholders
- Identify blockers early and communicate their potential impact on schedule, quality, capacity, or budget
- Facilitate project meetings and document decisions, action items, owners, and deadlines
- Balance multiple projects while meeting quality standards and firm delivery commitments
- Support accurate delivery tracking, capacity planning, and billing documentation
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Adobe Firefly to support research, outlining, drafting, editing, and quality assurance
- Evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, bias, originality, brand alignment, and instructional value
- Work within Adobe-related workflows involving Creative Cloud, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, Express, Firefly, and Frame.io
- Identify opportunities to improve development speed and consistency through responsible AI use and workflow automation
Skills
- Experience in instructional design, content development, L&D consulting, curriculum development, project management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of adult-learning principles and digital learning development
- Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and recommend practical learning solutions
- Experience managing projects, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder reviews
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content-organization skills
- Practical experience using generative AI tools within a professional workflow
- Familiarity with Adobe products and creative-production environments
- Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and maintain momentum with limited supervision
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and client-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm deadlines
- Ability to work across Eastern, Mountain, and Pacific time zones when required by customer or project needs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing client-ready work
- This position is 100% remote. The desired candidate must be able to work flexibly across Eastern, Mountain, and Pacific time zones to support client meetings, project deadlines, and customer needs as needed
- Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on client availability and project priorities
- Experience supporting enterprise, global, or Fortune 500 clients
- Experience developing content for workforce development, professional certification, or online learning
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, learning measurement, and performance consulting
- Experience reviewing video scripts, storyboards, rough cuts, or other production assets
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Frame.io, project trackers, and collaborative review platforms
- Knowledge of Adobe applications, creative workflows, or certification programs
- Project management, instructional design, or change management certification
