[Remote] Contributing Writer

The Contributing Writer researches, pitches, and writes digital articles on culture, celebrity, and lifestyle topics while collaborating remotely with the editorial team.
Responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and write digital articles on culture, celebrity, and lifestyle topics that align with the platform’s editorial vision
Skills
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with experience crafting engaging digital content and features
- Demonstrated familiarity with Black culture, celebrity, and lifestyle topics, and the ability to approach them with nuance and respect
- Research skills, including sourcing credible information, conducting interviews, and verifying facts
- Editorial skills such as self-editing, revising based on feedback, and maintaining consistent voice and clarity
- Comfort working remotely, managing time independently, and meeting deadlines in a contract-based environment
- Ability to collaborate with editors and other team members through email and online tools; openness to constructive feedback
- Background or strong interest in journalism, communications, media, or related fields is beneficial, though equivalent experience is also valued
- Professional experience writing for digital platforms, blogs, magazines, or similar publications is preferred
