[Remote] Data Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sunstar Insurance Group is seeking a Data Analyst to support its senior financial leadership. The role focuses on maintaining accurate revenue and sales production data, supporting financial and operational reporting, responding to data requests, and assisting with audits and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Financial Analyst in responding to individual and agencies' data requests and questions, as well as continued Power BI maintenance
- Assist with special projects created by Senior Financial Analyst to identify trends, anomalies, errors, inefficiencies, opportunities, etc
- Support the Senior Financial Analyst with financial and operational reporting (and corresponding data maintenance), ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Work with Management on the internal auditing efforts of the company's E&O Program
- Work with (the VP of) Operations on an ad-hoc basis
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-2 years working in a finance, accounting, data analyst, reporting analyst, or related field a plus
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Familiarity with Insurance industry a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on data integrity and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively and support cross-functional reporting needs
- Proficiency in Power BI is highly preferred
- Interest in finance, operations, and data analysis with a desire to grow into broader analytical responsibilities
- Proactive learner who can take initiative in improving reporting and analysis processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
