[Remote] Data Analyst

Remote Full-time Now Hiring

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) supports organizational performance and management reporting across its operations. The Data Analyst transforms authorized data into accurate analyses, Power BI dashboards, recurring reports, and decision-support information while maintaining data quality, governance, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and consolidate authorized data from approved organizational systems and departmental sources for defined management-reporting requirements
  • Maintain reporting data models, data dictionaries, metadata, and standardized definitions approved for PMO and management reporting
  • Document data sources, ownership, refresh schedules, transformations, assumptions, and limitations to ensure traceability
  • Handle confidential, personal, financial, programmatic, and donor-related information strictly according to access permissions and applicable data-governance requirements
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and recurring reporting packs for approved organizational-performance and management-reporting requirements
  • Translate validated data into clear visualizations and concise reports for non-technical users
  • Automate repeatable reporting processes where feasible while maintaining validation, review, and approval controls
  • Support reporting at Board, executive leadership, leadership-team, department, program/project, country/office, and action-owner or workstream levels, as defined in the approved PMO reporting framework
  • Ensure that action-owner or workstream reporting tracks implementation status and accountability and is not used as an HR staff-performance evaluation system
  • Analyze operational performance, implementation progress, schedules, budgets, procurement cycle times, service-delivery data, and other approved management indicators
  • Identify trends, variances, risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and opportunities for management review
  • Support scenario analysis and forecasting using approved assumptions and validated source data
  • Provide ad hoc analysis requested through the PMO and authorized by the relevant data owner or accountable function
  • Use donor, fundraising, or CRM data only when specifically authorized and validated by the responsible function; ownership of CRM, fundraising analysis, and donor reporting remains outside this role
  • Perform routine data-quality reviews to identify missing, inconsistent, duplicated, or anomalous information
  • Document identified issues and coordinate their correction with the responsible department or system owner rather than independently altering source records
  • Support approved validation rules, reporting controls, reconciliation processes, and audit trails
  • Ensure analyses and dashboards comply with approved definitions, access controls, confidentiality requirements, and executive-reporting standards
  • Clearly disclose data limitations, unresolved discrepancies, assumptions, and dates of extraction in reports
  • Work with Finance, Programs, Procurement, MEAL, HR, Fundraising, country offices, and system owners to understand authorized reporting needs and validate outputs
  • Coordinate with Business Information Systems staff on secure data extraction, integration, refresh, and technical requirements
  • Maintain a clear boundary between PMO organizational-performance reporting and MEAL impact, outcome, and beneficiary-level evaluation responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance on reporting feasibility without assuming decision rights belonging to the responsible department
  • Maintain an organized, access-controlled repository of approved dashboards, reports, analytical tools, documentation, and reporting calendars
  • Prepare user guidance and train authorized staff to interpret dashboards and reports appropriately
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting efficiency, system integration, and reporting consistency
  • Recommend new or revised metrics through the appropriate PMO and departmental approval processes
  • Stay current with relevant business intelligence, data-visualization, data-governance, and nonprofit-reporting practices

Skills

  • • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, information systems, business intelligence, economics, or another relevant field
  • • 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, management reporting, or a closely related role; nonprofit or humanitarian-sector experience is an advantage
  • • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Excel, including data modeling, transformation, visualization, and quality-control practices
  • • Working knowledge of SQL or an equivalent data-querying method; familiarity with ERP, workflow, and reporting platforms is an advantage
  • • Ability to translate business and management questions into clear analytical requirements and communicate findings to non-technical audiences
  • • Strong attention to detail, analytical judgment, documentation discipline, and problem-solving ability
  • • Demonstrated understanding of data governance, role-based access, confidentiality, and responsible handling of sensitive information
  • • Professional working proficiency in Arabic and English
