[Remote] Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. KGS Technology Group, Inc is seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join its data engineering team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing data pipelines and data infrastructure while supporting data processing, warehousing, validation, and quality activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data processing and analysis
- Develop data processing scripts using Python
- Work with relational and cloud-based databases
- Assist in building and maintaining data warehouses and data lakes
- Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks
- Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and resolve data-related issues
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and other technical teams
- Document data pipelines, processes, and technical solutions
- Follow coding, testing, version-control, and data engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of data processes
Skills
- • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
- • 0–2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Database Development, or a related field
- • Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
- • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python or another programming language
- • Understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipeline concepts
- • Basic understanding of data structures, databases, and data processing
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
