[Remote] Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Next Gen IT, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in AWS data services and big data technologies. The role focuses on working with AWS platforms, distributed data processing, programming languages, AI-assisted development tools, and executing data strategies.
Skills
- VERY strong in AWS: expecting someone who is extremely well versed- doesn't necessarily have to have built in AWS from greenfield as long as they're well versed in AWS data services and have extensive hands-on AWS experience
- Glue, Athena, S3, Lake Formation, SageMaker, Kinesis, DMS, Redshift, or equivalent
- Python, GoLang, SQL, Java or Scala
- Primarily a Spark shop- don't need to know PySpark specifically but equivalent
- Heavy experience w/ big data
- Need to be AI proficient (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent)
- Someone who can think 4 steps ahead – comfortable with strategy execution
