[Remote] Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a contract role supporting a client in St. Petersburg, Florida. The role focuses on designing scalable data solutions, developing ETL/ELT pipelines, building Java and Oracle applications, and ensuring data quality and architecture reliability. The engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve complex data challenges, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support enterprise data generation, collection, processing, and analytics initiatives
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to migrate, transform, and deploy data across multiple platforms and systems
- Build and support applications using Java, Oracle, and Spring Boot technologies
- Design and maintain robust data architectures that support evolving business needs and enterprise growth
- Ensure data quality, reliability, integrity, and performance through effective engineering and governance practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources, technologies, and business requirements
- Analyze complex data challenges and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to team members while contributing to key technical decisions
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience with:

- Experience with cloud-based data architectures and modern engineering practices
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
