[Remote] Data Engineer II
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. First Citizens Bank is seeking a Data Engineer II to support its data engineering operations. The role designs, develops, and maintains data pipelines and infrastructure, implements data integration and analytics solutions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data systems.
Responsibilities
- Data Pipelines - Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for efficient data processing and integration. Implement and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Enhance data flows and storage solutions for improved performance
- Data Warehousing - Design and implement data warehouse structures. Ensure data quality and consistency within the data warehouse. Apply data modeling techniques for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Data Governance, Quality & Compliance - Implement data governance policies and procedures. Maintain data quality standards and documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and standards
- Security & Access Management - Implement data security measures and access controls. Maintain data protection protocols
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other teams to understand and meet data requirements. Participate in cross-functional projects to support data-driven initiatives
Skills
- SQL and database management
- ETL processes and tools (e.g., DBTran, IICS, DataStage, SSIS, Apache Spark, Airflow)
- Big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark)
- Programming languages (e.g., Python, Java)
- Data modeling and architecture
- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 6 years' experience in Data engineering, database management, or related field
- Preferred Area of Study:Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
- Preferred Area of Experience:Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies
