[Remote] DevOps Engineer, Team Lead
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Piper Companies is an organization within the software and platform engineering industry. The DevOps Engineer, Team Lead will build and enhance deployment systems for cloud-native applications and enable engineering teams to deploy and operate applications efficiently on a Kubernetes-based platform. The role also involves improving deployment reliability, developer experience, infrastructure automation, and platform operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance deployment systems supporting cloud-native applications and platform services
- Design and implement Kubernetes deployment strategies utilizing ArgoCD and internal deployment tools
- Create and maintain "golden paths" that streamline application deployment and operational best practices for engineering teams
- Collaborate with software engineers and platform teams to improve developer experience and deployment reliability
- Build, maintain, and optimize internally developed services that support platform operations
- Automate infrastructure, deployments, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration, deployment, and orchestration
- Experience implementing and managing ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments
- Previous software engineering or development experience with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Experience designing and supporting deployment platforms and CI/CD workflows
- Ability to create standardized deployment frameworks and developer enablement solutions
- Experience working with internally developed services and platform tooling
