Overview: Electrical Engineer looking to take on complex, meaningful design work that drives the future of power generation. Our client is expanding, and we're looking for Electrical Engineers with experience in combined cycle power plants to join their consulting engineering practice. What You'll Do:
- Develop electrical designs for combined cycle and simple cycle power plants, including new generation and modernization projects.
- Produce and review deliverables such as one-lines, protection schemes, equipment specifications, grounding/lighting design, cable sizing, load studies, and construction packages.
- Coordinate across disciplines (I&C, mechanical, civil/structural) to ensure integrated, high quality engineering solutions.
- Support clients throughout the project lifecycle-including feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design, procurement, and commissioning.
- Interface with utility and plant stakeholders on technical issues, permitting requirements, and project milestones.
What We're Looking For:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in power plant environments, with clear expertise in combined cycle facilities.
- Strong understanding of:
- Medium and low voltage distribution
- Protective relaying & coordination
- Generator interconnection requirements
- NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and utility standards
- Single Line diagrams
- Cable selection/specification
- MV and LV switchgear specification
- ETAP experience, including grounding and underground duct banks.
- Protective relay selection and design schemes
- Grounding
- Experience working in a consulting or EPC engineering environment.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and communicate effectively with team.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
