[Remote] Financial Controller

Brilliant® is an award-winning contract and consulting practice specializing in accounting, finance, technology, and business solutions. The company is seeking an Interim Controller Consultant to lead the finance and accounting function for a growing SaaS firm, overseeing financial operations and improving processes, reporting, systems, and acquisition integration.
Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations including GAAP accounting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting
- Own GAAP reporting, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and accounting for recurring services, projects, equipment, and installations
- Oversee core accounting operations, including billing, AR, AP, collections, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and intercompany activity
- Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, process documentation, and audit readiness
- Partner with FP&A and operations on margin analysis, working capital, project profitability, and management reporting
- Support acquisition integration, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, system/process alignment, and consolidation
- Build out SOPs and documentation to support a scaling organization
- Enhance financial reporting and dashboards for leadership visibility
Skills
- 10-15+ years of financial management experience
- Mid-tier software experience such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, D365, etc
- SaaS, Tech, or Telecom experience REQUIRED
- Private Equity experience REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree required (Finance/Accounting/Economics)
- CPA preferred
