[Remote] Financial Controller

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Career Movement is partnering with a fast-growing national property management company to hire a Financial Controller. The role owns full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, audit preparation, and workflow improvements across a large, multi-entity real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of properties, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review property-level and consolidated financial statements
• Manage the general ledger and maintain accuracy across multiple entities
• Oversee AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
• Handle accruals, CAM reconciliations, and property-level variance analysis
• Partner with operations and asset management to explain results and support budgeting
• Support annual budgets, forecasts, and audit prep
• Improve accounting workflows and reporting cadence as the portfolio grows

Skills

• 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong property accounting background
• Full-cycle close and multi-entity experience
• Solid grasp of real estate and property-level financials
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working across large data sets
• Self-directed and able to thrive in a fully remote setup
• Experience with Yardi or RealPage is a nice to have
