[Remote] Financial Controller
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fiscal Fitness LLP provides accounting and advisory services to individuals and small businesses. The Financial Controller will oversee daily financial operations, including accounting records, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, tax compliance, reporting, internal controls, audit preparation, and workflow improvements.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensuring accuracy in all accounting records
- Managing budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitoring cash flow
- Supporting tax preparation and compliance activities in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Designing and refining financial reporting frameworks
- Analyzing financial performance
- Providing insights to support strategic decision-making
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls
- Assisting with audit preparation
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial workflows and policies
Skills
- Strong foundation in Accounting, with the ability to maintain accurate ledgers and apply GAAP or relevant standards
- Expertise in Finance and Financial Reporting to produce clear, timely, and compliant reports for internal and external use
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting Financial Statements
- Advanced Analytical Skills to assess trends, variances, and key performance indicators and to support data-driven decisions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting/finance role, ideally within small business or advisory environments
- Comfort working remotely with strong time management, organization, and attention to detail
- High ethical standards, commitment to confidentiality, and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
