[Remote] Frontend Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Piper Companies is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join its innovative Modeling Labs team. The role focuses on developing and enhancing a network simulation platform, building intuitive user interfaces, integrating APIs, collaborating with backend engineers, and improving application performance and usability.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications supporting network simulation and modeling capabilities
- Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and deliver new platform features
- Develop reusable UI components and improve application performance, scalability, and usability
- Work closely with QA, product teams, and network architects to enhance the overall user experience
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and Agile development activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve frontend application issues while ensuring high-quality releases
- Contribute to architecture discussions and frontend best practices
Skills
- 3+ years of frontend development experience utilizing JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Professional experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Backend programming experience with Golang (preferred) or Python
- Experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and network protocols
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
- Experience working with Linux environments
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to network automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- CCNA certification or networking background
- Experience developing applications within cloud-native or microservices environments
