[Remote] Information System Security Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Illumination Works is seeking an Information System Security Manager to lead cybersecurity efforts across multiple information systems and Risk Management Framework packages. The role provides strategic direction, technical oversight, team leadership, and hands-on execution across RMF, Authorization to Operate activities, vulnerability management, and security engineering.
Responsibilities
- Leading cybersecurity efforts across multiple Information Systems and Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages within a complex enterprise environment
- Providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and hands-on execution to ensure systems maintain compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements while supporting operational mission objectives
- Managing and mentoring a team of cybersecurity professionals
- Coordinating with system owners, engineers, assessors, and government stakeholders
- Serving as the primary cybersecurity authority for assigned systems throughout the Authorization to Operate (ATO) lifecycle
- Supporting RMF execution, vulnerability management, and security engineering activities
- Managing multiple RMF packages simultaneously
- Supporting ATO lifecycle activities from system categorization through authorization and continuous monitoring
Skills
- Active security clearance
- • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- • 8+ years of cybersecurity, information assurance, or RMF experience
- • 3+ years of cybersecurity leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- • Extensive experience managing multiple RMF packages simultaneously
- • Deep understanding of:
- • NIST RMF (SP 800-37)
- • NIST SP 800-53
- • FISMA
- • Continuous Monitoring
- • Vulnerability Management
- • Security Control Assessments
- • Experience supporting ATO lifecycle activities from system categorization through authorization and continuous monitoring
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
- • Security+ or equivalent certification
- • CISSP or equivalent certification
- • Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, Federal Civilian, or other regulated environments
