[Remote] Information Technology Security Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SoTalent is seeking an IT Security Engineer to protect critical systems and strengthen cybersecurity defenses in enterprise environments. The role designs, implements, supports, and optimizes security technologies while advising technical and business teams and aligning security initiatives with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced operational support for security tools and platforms, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal system performance
- Analyze, design, develop, and implement security solutions that protect organizational assets while supporting business requirements
- Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert, providing guidance and consultation to technical teams, business stakeholders, and project teams
- Manage the lifecycle of security technologies, ensuring capacity, availability, integrity, and ongoing effectiveness of security controls
- Support the alignment of security technologies and initiatives with enterprise security frameworks, policies, and strategic objectives
- Plan, deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools and infrastructure across the organization
- Evaluate new and existing technologies to ensure compliance with established security standards, policies, and industry best practices
- Research emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and solutions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Participate in security architecture and design reviews, providing recommendations to strengthen overall security posture
- Monitor security environments and proactively identify opportunities to optimize security controls and system performance
Skills
- • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, infrastructure security, or a related technical discipline
- • Experience supporting and administering enterprise security technologies and security operations processes
- • Knowledge of identity and access management, authentication technologies, and certificate management practices
- • Familiarity with cloud security controls, endpoint protection solutions, web application security technologies, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- • Understanding of security best practices, risk management principles, and enterprise security frameworks
- • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
- • Strong interest in staying current with emerging cybersecurity technologies, threats, and industry trends
- • Experience utilizing automation, AI-driven technologies, or advanced analytics to enhance security operations and efficiency
- • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and network security fundamentals
- • Experience participating in security projects, security assessments, or infrastructure modernization initiatives
- • Professional cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar credentials are highly desirable
- • Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams to deliver security-focused outcomes
