[Remote] Java Devops engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is seeking a Java DevOps Engineer for a hybrid/remote contract opportunity with a direct client in Maplewood, Minnesota. The role combines Java Spring Boot development, Python, microservices, testing, CI/CD, cloud deployment, production troubleshooting, and operations engineering using Linux, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Plans, designs, develops, codes and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products
- Revises and refines systems as required
- Participates in the devising of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation
- Involved in testing and ongoing support of business systems
- Develops and maintains operational and system level documentation
- Must be able to apply SDLC concepts and have a proven track record of delivering solid, robust applications
- As a Java SpringBoot developer with knowledge of Python, Concurrency Programming, Microservices and Test Driven Development. Must have good understanding of CI/CD processes
- As an Operations Engineer with good grasp of Linux fundamentals and Shell Programming with knowledge of deployment tools like Terraform, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes
- The role involves 50% or each of the above

- Cloud experience, AI development
- AI/ML exp would be good
- Kubernetes is good to have
