[Remote] Mainframe Consultant

Signature IT World Inc is seeking an Infrastructure Mainframes (Storage) Consultant to support enterprise IBM mainframe storage infrastructure. The role focuses on administering DASD, Hitachi Disk Storage, Virtual Tape Systems, physical tape environments, and DFSMS-related storage policies in a 24x7 environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support IBM mainframe storage infrastructure in a 24x7 enterprise environment
- Manage and maintain DASD storage using Hitachi Disk Storage HDSVSP and related storage subsystems
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Virtual Tape Systems VTSVTL and physical tape environments
- Perform storage allocation, provisioning, migration, and reclamation activities
- Administer and support DFSMS, SMS policies, ACS routines, and storage groups
Skills
- Strong knowledge of IBM zOS Storage Management
- Handson experience with Hitachi Disk Storage (HDSVSP, USP, VSP G Series)
- Experience administering IBM Virtual Tape System (VTS) or Virtual Tape Library (VTL)
- Strong understanding of DFSMS, SMS, ACS routines, and Storage Groups
- Experience with DASD management, allocation, migration, and performance tuning
