[Remote] Manager - Engineering
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Wendy’s Company is a restaurant brand seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to oversee the design and development of technology stacks that improve stability and reduce technology complexity. The role provides architectural and development leadership, manages workloads in an agile environment, and collaborates with business analysts and stakeholders to verify requirements and plan implementations.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects using agile methodology to develop POC and production ready solutions
- Design highly-scalable capabilities surrounding mobile, kiosk, point-of-sale, payment, audio, back-office, analytics, IoT, and more leveraging a combination of on-site and remote resources
- Ensure engineering best practices are followed (unit and functional testing, code reviews, CI, design documentation and review, etc.)
- Collaborate with business analysts and key stakeholders to help verify requirements and develop an implementation plan
Skills
- • Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems OR 6 years equivalent experience
- • 5+ years of platform, cloud, or software engineering experience
- • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- • Skilled at communicating effectively and empathetically with technical and non-technical users
- • Experience working on an Agile/Kanban team
- • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC
- • 2+ years managing a team of engineers a plus
- • QSR experience a plus
- It is expected that you will primarily perform work remotely. You may be asked to travel, as needed, to the Wendy's Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or to other location(s) as designated by the Company
