Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and retain a team of software engineers within Iris AI, including hiring, coaching, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development
  • Translate product and engineering roadmaps into operational plans; own delivery, scope, and priorities for your team
  • Partner with peer engineering managers, Product, UX, Architecture, and platform teams to align priorities and present results and recommendations

  • Fluency with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) and a clear point of view on running a team that uses it well: spec-driven development, careful context management, and verified, tested output
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, microservices, and multi-tenant SaaS architecture, with experience on a major cloud provider (Azure preferred)
  • Proven ability to translate roadmaps into actionable plans, set priorities, and manage resourcing to meet deadlines
