Remote Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

Turing is looking for candidates with strong experience in mechanical engineering, system design, and production optimization. Role overview:In this role, you will contribute to projects that help evaluate and enhance AI systems using your engineering knowledge and analytical reasoning skills. No prior AI experience is required. These projects will help you explore how AI can be leveraged to improve technical reasoning, engineering accuracy, and design efficiency across manufacturing workflows. What does day-to-day look like:Design and solve real-world mechanical and manufacturing engineering problems to test AI reasoning. Write clear, structured solutions covering mechanical design, materials selection, failure analysis, and production methods. Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with engineering principles. Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of simulation reasoning, calculations, and industry standards (ASME, ISO, ASTM). Requirements:4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering. Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) and engineering analysis methods (FEA, CFD) preferred. Strong English communication and technical reasoning skills.
