[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CareerUS Solutions is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure. The role focuses on routing, switching, network security, cloud networking, monitoring, automation, and ensuring highly available and reliable network operations while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure
- Manage and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and wireless infrastructure
- Configure and support LAN, WAN, VLAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAT, and routing protocols
- Work with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security
- Identify and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues
- Perform network troubleshooting using appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Implement network security controls, access policies, segmentation, and firewall rules
- Support cloud networking environments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Participate in network architecture, migration, upgrade, and optimization projects
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration documentation, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams
- Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and problem management
- Assist with network automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and provide occasional after-hours/on-call support when required
Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in Network Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, VPN, LAN/WAN, and network security
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco or equivalent networking equipment
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and routing/switching technologies
- Experience with enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or similar platforms
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with network security principles and infrastructure best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional technical teams
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP networking
- Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, or Zero Trust networking
- Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar automation technologies
- Experience with enterprise wireless technologies
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, PCNSE, Fortinet certifications, or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field is preferred
